Rocket City Move is free to read. We pay for it through clearly labeled local sponsorships and, increasingly, affiliate links. Here is exactly how that works, so you can judge our recommendations for yourself.
Affiliate links
- Some links on this site are, or may become, affiliate links. If you click one and buy or sign up, we may earn a commission from the company.
- This costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is the same whether or not you use our link.
- We use affiliate networks such as Impact.com, which loads a tracking script on our pages to credit referrals. See our privacy policy for details.
- Current affiliate partners include HireAHelper (hourly moving labor) and Expedia Group (Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo hotel and rental bookings, through the Expedia Group Travel Creator Program). We also work with affiliate networks such as CJ (Commission Junction).

Sponsors and advertising
- Local businesses can pay a flat fee for a featured listing, a newsletter placement, or an events-page sponsorship.
- Every paid placement is labeled “Sponsored” and visually separated from our guides.
- Sponsors don't review or approve our content, and paying doesn't buy a better mention in our guides, comparisons, or event picks.
- We never share reader or subscriber information with sponsors.

No referral fees from lenders or real estate agents
We do not accept per-loan, per-closing, per-lead, or per-transaction referral fees or commissions from mortgage lenders, real estate agents or brokers, title companies, or other settlement service providers. Federal law (the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, RESPA) limits such payments, and we don't want our advice shaped by them. Businesses in those industries can advertise only through the same flat-fee, labeled sponsorships available to everyone. We are not a real estate brokerage and do not refer clients to agents.
Independent, not affiliated with the military
Rocket City Move is independently owned. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid by the U.S. Army, Redstone Arsenal, U.S. Space Command, the Department of Defense, or any government agency. Mentions of official programs, offices, and installations are for information only.
